The girls assessed Beremby this week. When they asked about their relationship with their ancestors this is what the girls discovered:
They say the ancestors deserve respect like God because they give the people rules to follow. They pray to them every day like they pray every day to God. When I asked for what did they pray to the ancestors and for what did they pray to God for, they answered, “On Sundays we pray to God, but when there are special events or important times we pray to the ancestors.”
For the people of Beremby, the ancestors serve as a mediator between man and God. Pray that we clearly proclaim 1 Timothy 2:5 to them.
