VHF Satellite Weather Imaging

Jeremy and I talked last week about weather and the lack of relevant weather information available for the rainforest. Forecasting is available for the capital city and two others, but are not close enough to us to matter. This situation is similar to receiving a weather forecast from Raleigh, NC for your day in Greenville, SC.
It’s not pretty, I know, but it was my first weather satellite image from NOAA-18 using my radio.  The satellite passes last eleven or twelve minutes as it broadcasts live imagery. I will have to wait for cyclone season next year to receive some amazing images off the east coast.
Perhaps this is something that we can incorporate into Judah’s homeschool science classes…
